1. When will the app be officially discontinued?
- The app will be discontinued on 30th September 2024.
2. What does this mean in simple terms?
- After the 30th September 2024, patients will no longer be able to access the app or the documentation within it.
Patient Communication
3. Are you communicating with our patients?
- Yes, patients will receive an email informing them of the discontinuation. We are advising patients to download any important documents prior to the 30th September 2024, as documents won’t be accessible once the app is discontinued.
4. Should we also communicate with our patients?
- We would advise you to communicate this update with your patients. However, the final decision is up to you.
Patient Data
5. What patient data do you store?
- The app currently stores personal information such as name, date of birth, and address, provided by the patients when signing up to the app.
6. Can patients download their documents before the 30th September 2024?
- Yes, they can, and we would advise them to do so. Patients need to go to the relevant document section within the app (e.g. Results), and proceed as follows: Select document > click on vertical ellipses > click download.
7. Can patient’s still access their documents if they contact us?
- Yes, they can. As the documents are stored in the Practice Management System, you can still provide patients with copies of their documents after the discontinuation date. We will inform patients of this in the email that they receive.
8. Are you retaining the patient data after the discontinuation date?
- Yes, patient information is subject to the medical records retention requirements of healthcare providers and our Privacy Policy. Medinet will store all patient information in line with these requirements.
